GODMOTHER TO NORWEGIAN JEWEL ANNOUNCED
London, 1 November 2005: Norwegian Cruise Line today announced that Melania Trump has agreed to serve as Godmother of its newest cruise ship, Norwegian Jewel, when it is christened on Thursday 3 November in Miami. Melania Trump joins the likes of Kim Cattrall and Elaine L. Chao, U.S. Secretary of Labour, who were Godmothers of Norwegian Dawn and Pride of America respectively. As a model, Mrs Trump graced the covers of a number of magazines including Vogue, In Style and New York Magazine. She met billionaire Donald Trump while attending a fashion gala and they married on 22 January 2005 in Florida. Norwegian Jewel was launched in Dover in August 2005 and is NCL’s largest ship to date. After three inaugural cruises in Europe the ship has entered full-time service offering guests Caribbean itineraries throughout the winter. In May 2006 Norwegian Jewel will be returning to Europe to offer a selection of Mediterranean and Egypt & Greek Isles itineraries. As with all NCL’s new ships, Norwegian Jewel is purpose built for Freestyle Cruising, which enables guests to have the freedom and flexibility to eat where they want, when they want in resort casual attire, tailoring their holiday to suit themselves. The ship also features 10 Courtyard Villas, featuring a private courtyard and sundeck and dedicated butlers on hand throughout the cruise. Along with the two Garden Villas, these make up the largest and most innovative suite complex at sea. Norwegian Jewel cruises in the Caribbean start from £899 for the 9-night Treasures of the Eastern Caribbean fly-cruise, which departs from Miami between January 14 2006 and April 22 2006.
