NCL LAUNCHES ‘STAR SEEKER’ TALENT SEARCH

Do you sing in the shower? Are you the first one up on karaoke night? If you’re waiting in the wings for stardom, NCL has the competition for you.

The cruise line is opening up the mic and launching a ‘Pop Idol’ style “Star Seeker” slot on its cruises (longer than four nights) from April 4th 2003.

Contestants will perform a three-minute routine showcasing their talent, and a panel of judges (including the ship’s hotel director, cruise director, plus a musician and guest performer from the professional entertainment staff onboard) will select the winner based on each performer’s entertainment value and audience reaction.

Videotapes of winning performances will be sent to NCL’s head office in Miami to be scrutinised by the entertainment department, and a handful of lucky winners will then be invited to perform a 45-minute cabaret show as a featured entertainer onboard one of NCL’s ships, in front of 100s of guests in the ship theatre.

And any of the winners who wow the crowd will get themselves a full-time entertainment contract with NCL.

NCL cruises are available from £699 per person for a 9-night fly-cruise to the Western Caribbean departing on the 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th November and 5th and 12th December 2003, embarking in Houston and calling at Cozumel, Roatan, Belize City and Cancun. The price includes all meals and entertainment aboard ship and child prices start from just £399 (based on a child sharing an inside stateroom with two adults).
