While en route from Quebec City, Canada to Boston, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Crown sustained damage to its portside propeller caused by a fishing net in the water. The company’s Marine Operations Department notified the U.S. Coast guard upon discovering the damage and a repair timeframe has now been established.

Repair work began this morning, and is expected to be completed by this evening. As such, the ship is now scheduled to sail from Boston between 10 p.m. and midnight tonight and arrive into Baltimore on Saturday, September 27th between 10 a.m. and Noon; one day later than the original arrival schedule.

A full shore excursion program has been planned for the guests’ additional day in Boston and NCL is working with Guests to rearrange their existing plans or to make new plans to ensure their journey home is as convenient as possible.

NCL is working diligently to notify embarking guests of the schedule change and is assisting with alternative transportation arrangements if necessary.

Embarkation will now begin on Saturday, Sept. 27th from 2 to 4 p.m. NCL will apply an onboard credit to the embarking guest’s account, which will equate to one day of the cruise fare they have paid plus $100 per cabin to make up for the cruise being one day shorter and the delayed embarkation. NCL appreciates its guests’ patience and understanding during this time and thanks them for their patronage
