NCL celebrates its newest ship: Norwegian Gem |
London, 25 September 2007… Dover Promenade will be brought to life on Friday 5 October, when NCL teams up with Dover Lions Club to celebrate the launch of NCL’s newest ‘It Girl’ cruise ship, Norwegian Gem.
The festivities kick off at 6.30pm with live entertainment from Dover Operatic and Dramatic Society, performing arts company the Blackfish Academy and singer/songwriter Louise Orsilla, a pupil at St. Edmund’s school.
At 8.15pm celebrity comedienne Ruby Wax will launch Fireworks Fantasia, a dazzling display of fireworks set to music. The sky over Dover will be illuminated as the events on the promenade come to a close.

The Mayor of Dover will announce the winners’ of NCL’s “design a postcard” competition at 7.30pm and the Dover Lions Club will be holding an on-site raffle to win a cruise holiday from NCL, which will be announced at 8pm.
Additional children’s entertainment and refreshments will be available on the sea front, and to join in the celebrations, De Bradelei Wharf will be staying open until 2030.
