It’s cruising, but not as we know it |
London, 15 February 2008… NCL has taken the cruising rule book, ripped it up, and thrown it out to sea. Holidaymakers can now sample cruising with true freedom without having to fly, as NCL launches its biggest ever ex-UK season this summer, including its first season from Southampton.
With NCL Freestyle Cruising, the dress code is gone, as are set meal times in a formal restaurant. In its place is the choice to holiday as you like, with whoever you like, on board the youngest fleet of cruise ships on the planet.
For those looking to ‘test the water’ and try cruising for the first time, NCL provides the perfect introduction. With up to 13 dining options to choose from, guests will be lucky to see the same people twice, let alone sit through a meal with them every night, unless they want to, of course!
And with three recently launched ships to choose from, UK holidaymakers have never been so spoilt for choice - before they even step on board. The onboard currency is also US dollars, making a cruise with NCL great value for money.
For the first time, UK holidaymakers can experience NCL’s unique Freestyle Cruising from Southampton on board new ship Norwegian Jade, which will based there this summer. She will be travelling to the Mediterranean, Norway and around Britain, as well as operating two weekend cruises to Le Havre (for Paris) and Zeebrugge (for Brussels/Bruges).
Demand for this unique and flexible style of cruising from the UK has also seen NCL place a newer and larger ship in Dover – Norwegian Jewel. From here she will be operating itineraries to the exotic Baltic, including fashionable St Petersburg and Tallin.
In addition, the “it girl” of the fleet, Norwegian Gem - launched in October 2007 – will be based in Barcelona, giving UK holidaymakers the ability to take a seven-night action packed break from the UK, cruising from the heart of the Mediterranean to Rome, Pisa, Nice and more.
Norwegian Jade will be sailing from Southampton between May and August, 2008. A 14-night Mediterranean Escape departing and returning to Southampton is priced from £1,299* per person, travelling to Malaga (Granada), Barcelona, Villefranche (Nice), Livorno (Florence / Pisa), Civitavecchia (Rome), Gibraltar, Lisbon and Vigo. Fares include parking at Southampton or coach transfers from central London or Southampton airport, 14 nights’ Freestyle Cruising on board Norwegian Jade, meals and entertainment.
Norwegian Jewel will be sailing from Dover between May and August, 2008. A 12-night Baltic Capitals I itinerary departing and returning to Dover is priced from £999* per person, travelling to Copenhagen, Warnemunde (Berlin), Tallin, overnight in St Petersburg, Helsinki, and Stockholm. Fares include parking at Dover or transfers from Gatwick, Heathrow or central London, 14 nights’ Freestyle Cruising on board Norwegian Jewel, meals and entertainment.
Norwegian Gem will be sailing round-trip from Barcelona in 2008, priced from £699* per person, travelling to Valetta in Malta; Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Livorno (Florence / Pisa) in Italy, and Villefranche (Nice) in France. Fares include return flights from the UK, transfers to the ship, government and port taxes, seven nights’ Freestyle Cruising® on board Norwegian Gem, meals and entertainment.
