Dine out on the US dollar in the Med this summer

London, 21 April 2008… Love the idea of a holiday to Europe’s hottest destinations this summer, but worried about how far your Euro will go?

With NCL Freestyle Cruising it’s not just holidaymakers in the US who can take advantage of the fantastic exchange rate. All onboard spend is in US dollars, making it one of the most affordable ways to see hotspots such as Barcelona, Italy and the French Riviera in style.

With around two US dollars to the pound, there’s no need to put something away for a rainy day, guests can simply soak up the sun sailing the Mediterranean, without scrimping on luxuries. For example:

The cost of a bottle of Bollinger champagne onboard an NCL cruise comes in at the equivalent to just £38. The same bottle ordered in a Parisian bistro could add up to £75 – almost twice as much!

A poolside Margarita will set NCL guests back the equivalent to a mere £2.80, whereas in Italy’s most popular hotspots, tourists can pay over £12 for a cocktail.

Guests taking advantage of NCL’s range of luxury spa treatments can make the most of a GoSMILE tooth whitening treatment at the equivalent to £100 – a treatment which can cost up to £300 in a UK-based luxury spa.

And it’s not just with meals and entertainment that NCL guests can make a saving. A seven night cruise with NCL to the Western Mediterranean works out at just £74 per person, per night*. Compare this to a seven night stay at a four-star hotel in Naples, where guests pay £183 per person, per night, and the prices speak for themselves!

All prices are correct at time of going to press but subject to change and based on approximate equivalent US dollar to £ pounds sterling prices.

*Price based on a NCL Western Mediterranean - cruise only – with prices starting from £519 per person.
